We are back at it with another KizombaRDU Botcamp for the Raleigh/Durham area. This time we are covering the fun and energetic dance of SEMBA!
Semba & Kizomba are partnered dances heating things up on the dance floor! With origins from Angola (Africa), these dances are focused on the connection between you, your partner and the music. We’ve covered Kizomba, now it’s time to add Semba dance and music into the mix!
Whether you want to learn Kizomba or Semba for the first time or improve what you've already learned, this progressive bootcamp will focus on foundations, proper technique and body movements for dancing Kizomba and Semba, and fun combinations to enhance your social dancing!
All levels welcomed. No partner required to register as we rotate throughout class giving everyone a chance to dance.

Instructor: Horacio Joao
About Horácio João
Born and raised in Luanda, Angola, Horácio João is a talented dancer and teacher with vast knowledge of Kizomba and Semba dances. He is one of the leaders and members of Os Tukina Dance Company - one of the best in Angola! As a longtime member of Os Tukina, Horácio has become an Ambassador to Angolan Culture by providing dance instruction throughout the country, performing at cultural events and weddings, as well as making frequent television appearances on Angolan television stations TPA 1, TV Zimbo and ZAP Viva/Viva Tarde. He also participated in the Concurso Nacional Dança Kizomba/Semba in 2016, 2017, 2018 and placed well each year.
